We offer TaeKwonDo classes for Tiger Cubs (ages 4 and 5), Juniors (ages 6 to 12), and Adults. TaeKwonDo is our main focus; however, our Academy offers training in other martial arts, including Gracie-style Jiu-Jitsu, HanMuDo, and Weapons (sword and short stick). We also offer Tom Patire’s Personal Protection courses . These personal protection courses are not martial arts classes but are stand alone protection courses that can be taught to employees, youth groups and teams, and social organizations at our Academy or at another location.

In ancient times, martial artists like the Hwarang warriors of Korea lived by codes that went beyond fighting skills and required them to honor their parents and teachers and respect their friends. They would defend their villages when attacked, but they were also entrusted with governance during times of peace. Overstreet TaeKwonDo Academy has been working to continue this tradition since January 2001 by equipping its students with the skills to protect themselves and others but also to be better citizens. We need the courage to stand up to those who would use force to achieve their goals, but we also need the discipline to control our impulses and emotions, accountability for our actions, the health and energy to fulfill our obligations, positive values that recognize our obligation to help others, and relationships and connections with other people. |
